Endowment Funds

Dear Colleagues,

The AAAR Endowment Funds are expanding! We are excited to announce the development of three new Endowment Funds over the next few years. First, we have the AAAR Excellence in Teaching,

Center for Aerosol Science and Engineering Sponsored Ad

Mentoring and Training Award Fund spearheaded by Rachel O’Brien. As the name suggests, this award will be given to an individual in recognition of their contribution to the AAAR community through outstanding mentoring. Second is the Dale Lundgren and Virgil Marple Fund to support plenary lectures at the AAAR annual conference. This fund is being developed by C-Y Wu, Chris Hogan and Bernard Olson to honor the long and productive collaboration between Lundgren and Marple in the field of aerosol measurement. The third fund is the International Friendship Fund being developed by Susanne Hering to support international participation in the AAAR annual conference with travel grants to aerosol scientists who work outside the US and Canada.

The goal for all three of these funds is to raise $25,000 so that an additional $25,000 in matching funds can be requested from the Board of Directors. This will make all three into True Endowment Funds that will provide ongoing financial support for these worthy initiatives.
