A Message from the AAAR Executive Committee

Dear Colleagues,

AAAR is one of the world’s premier associations of aerosol scientists and engineers. Our members use their expertise to tackle many of today’s most pressing issues, from air quality, climate, and energy, to health and technology. We come from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, and we know that this diversity is a strength. We are committed to supporting and encouraging our membership to share their knowledge, contribute to solutions, and participate in decision-making.

AAAR values and welcomes all members. Members of AAAR have worked to build a welcoming community where everyone feels valued and respected through actions that include the development of the Representation and Equity Affairs committee, panel discussions on community-engaged research, and environmental justice book club discussions. Our program is committed to supporting the professional success of all AAAR members regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability status, nation of origin, religion, or any other aspects of their identity. We pledge to continue working towards a diverse and inclusive community and we invite everyone to contribute through activities such as our meetings and lectures, participating on committees and in working groups, submitting papers to AS&T, and nominating members of our community for awards.

Your voice and your work matter. Members of our community have had a profound impact on a wide range of topics including the environment and our changing climate, medical and health affairs, and materials and new technologies. This has been driven by development of key tools, techniques, models, and instrumentation, as well as community engaged research and outreach. All of our work contributes to these advancements, and we will continue to support your work through our meetings and our publications. As your executive committee, we are honored to serve you as you contribute to these vital areas through your research, innovation, communication, and leadership.

Sincerely,

AAAR Executive Committee
